Movement & Comfort for Labor

Labor is physically and emotionally challenging - whether you are looking forward to medical pain relief or an unmedicated birth experience. This class will augment what you learned in childbirth class and give you more time to practice positions and comfort measures with your labor support person. If you haven't taken a childbirth class (although we strongly recommend doing so!) then this will give you more strategies to help you cope with the sensations of labor.

We will cover the following in this workshop:

  • Stretches & Positions for Labor & Birth
fetal positioning, pelvic outlet, pressure relief
  • Touch & Environmental Control
warm, cold, smell, lighting, music, counter pressure & acupressure, massage, hydrotherapy
  • Breathing & Vocalizing, Affirmations, Visualization, Guided Relaxation
