All moms and babies welcome! This group is free for MoCo Members and only $5 for nonmembers. Sign up in advance or when you arrive. We know babies really don't need a playgroup but we have found that groups do help new mommas in adjusting to motherhood and in fending off isolation. This is the perfect way for you to meet other new moms and to talk about all that is changing in your universe. And even if this baby isn't your first, it's still fun, helpful and worthwhile to come! Each session discusses hot topics that are of concern for all moms but sessions also allow time for open discussion and questions/concerns you might have. Those have recently welcomed a new baby through adoption are also welcome. Grandmothers, aunties, girlfriends and expectant mommas are also welcome. Topics include, but are not limited to: soothing techniques, getting out of the house, relationships with partners, caring for yourself, feeding, stimulating your baby's brain development, relationships with friends and relatives, and, of course, sleep. Tuesdays are usually facilitated by Nicole, a mother of five. Fridays are usually facilitated by Shawna, a mother of four. Thursdays in Sturbridge are usually facilitated by Sharon, a mother of two (and grandmother of one!). All three mommas are warm and energetic and love helping mommas get more comfortable with their babies and their new roles in life! Drop in from week to week, this group is on-going (except when we're closed for the holidays). Feel free to bring your lunch, too--why eat alone?
