BabywearingBabies and children love to be with the people who love them. You know how great it feels to snuggle with a baby's head under your chin or get a big hug from a 2-year-old. Babywearing (the practice of using a wrap, sling or carrier to hold and carry a baby or child near an adult's body) feels great for the child and the adult. Babies love it (and cry 40% less) because they are right back where they were in utero--close to mom's heart. Babies love the sound of our breathing, our voices and our heart beating. It lulls them to sleep and comforts them when they are ready to close their eyes or gently take in this big, stimulating world. Mothers & Company encourages babywearing. It's comfortable, inexpensive and babies and kids love it, too! We have the largest selection of wraps/slings/carriers that we know of in New England and we recommend that you BRING your baby or child in to get fitted for the right one.
